Summary:

Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she'd never do the work of her father-polluting souls. She'd been naive to make such a vow. She'd been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school's party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there's Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself travelling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

********Spoilers Included********

Thank God I was relieved from my cliffhanger state. Normally, the second book is not as great as the first but honestly, Sweet Peril; did not disappoint me. It pick up the story right from where we left off.
Now if you didn't read my previous review on Sweet Evil, I encourage you to read it. Anna Witt is a goody too shoes daughter of Substance Abuse and Kaidan Rowe is the tempting son of the Duke of Lust.
I will repeat if you missed that......son of the Duke of Lust...... I mean this explain almost everything already. When you are the son of the Duke of Lust you have some sexual tips and tricks up your sleeves. And the mere fact Anna has managed to stay pure all this time proves she ain't human. I am convinced.

In Sweet Peril, Anna is no longer the naive girl she once was but actually is more knowledgeable about her background -half demon and angel heritage. And she now sees the world clearly for what it is. Hence, as the cover suggests we see the darker side of her evolving to the point where she even beings to embrace it. However, this is all in an attempt to throw off Dukes' notion that she is not unfaithful to their cause and so she plays along.

As if that's not enough she has to deal with heartbreak. I mean I can't image involuntary revealing that you love someone and getting such as dismissive response. But then again Kaidan is the son of the Duke of Lust he doesn't do love but damn that was a serious case of rejection.
Out of the blue his band becomes majorly successful and suddenly has to pack up and leave.
*Oh wow, what a coincidence.*
She is not even given the time of day for an explanation.

Now poor Anna has to carry on her life as if she hasn't been completely shattered and maintain her transformed image. *Great!*
But I like that she doesn't completely let it overshadow her life.
Thank God she grows some balls in Sweet Peril. And beings to force on her self development and fighting skills.
*Shout out for the ladies, you don't need a man to make you happy.....just saying*

Nonetheless, as if she wasn't experiencing any problems: heartbroken, demon whispers prowling, daddy issues and hormonal changes; a prophecy appears out of nowhere -literally......well no where but a jail cell to be exact.

Speaking hormonal changes, I liked that the author gave Anna look however I wondered why the cover girl appearance never seemed to change. *Just saying* I think here the author makes Anna seem more realistic. Also, the new characters e.g Kopano introduced were beautiful, I would of like to know them a bit better, action needed to be fast pace to meet every single Nephilim and plus gain loyalties. Whilst Anna and Kaidan still fighting their raging attraction for each other.
*love triangle alert*

I am definitely team Kaidan throughout this book.
*spoiler alert* When he told her he loved heart, shipped this relationship off immediately.  Which brings me to the conclusion the summit yet another cliffhanger. The summit gathering was very unusual but interesting. It as solidifies many facts, one being the Dukes run things and care about no one but themselves......not even their children.
Two, Anna angelic side is always on autopilot.
And three Kaidan Rowe is completely, helplessly and distinctively in love with the innocent Nephilim Anna Whitt.
